Verona, the so called city of love, the little alleys, Giulietta’s house, the Arena, Piazza delle Erbe.. It’s a little jewel of the north of Italy.
Here some travel tips according to my experience:
WHERE TO STAY:
Massimago Wine Suites. Massimago is not only a charming suites b&b, it’s a wine company made up by Camilla Rossi Chauvenet, in the valley of Mezzane, near Verona. The b&b is right in the center of the town, just few walks from the Arena. It is composed by 7 suites with a comfy and warm atmosphere that make you feel immediately home.
Typical french bakery, with colorful displays full of perfect pastries. Here you can taste some delicious macarons, salty and savory croissants, little sweets from the local tradition and various cakes.
If you want to spend the happy hour as a local, Bar Rialto is one of the most famous bar of the city. Just have a sit at its table under the arches, have a cocktail and enjoy the treats of the buffet, made by different choice of pizza and some vegetables and vinaigrette.
Located in Palazzo Victoria and led by Chef Carmine Calò, it represents the new way of living Verona; offering genuine and typical products of the traditional Italian cuisine, wisely revisited and modernized. Must try: L’uovo all’amatriciana (Amatriciana Egg) and the cheesecaked, served on a flowerpot.
